As prosecutors began to make their case in open court earlier in August, disturbingly gruesome photos of J.J. Vallow and Tylee Ryan were at the center of their argument. J.J. and Tylee’s mother, Lori Vallow, and their stepfather, Chad Daybell, are accused of killing the 7-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl and burying them on Daybell’s Idaho property.
After months of searching for the kids without Vallow and Daybell’s cooperation, J.J. and Tylee’s bodies were discovered on June 9. The children were last seen in September 2019.
Gruesome Details of J.J. Vallow, Tylee Ryan Revealed
As People reports, during his testimony, Rexburg police Detective Ray Hermosillo described what J.J. and Tylee looked like when they were finally found. J.J. was reportedly “dressed in red pajamas and placed inside a black plastic bag, with his ankles and wrists bound by duct tape. Several layers of duct tape also secured a white plastic bag around the boy’s head.”
Then, in a nearby pet cemetery, which was also in Daybell’s yard, “authorities recovered a mass of burned flesh and bone held in a melted green bucket, and under the bucket, a partial human skull,” Hermosillo told the court, according to People. Those remains belonged to Tylee.
Daybell has since been charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, and two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. However, he has maintained his innocence by pleading not guilty.
Vallow has also been charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. She too pleaded not guilty. The mom was expected in court for her preliminary hearing on August 10.
Vallow remains in jail on a $1 million bond for earlier felony charges of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, as well as resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime, contempt of court and willful disobedience of court process or order for failing to produce the two kids. The mom refused to tell police where her children were after they were reported missing in November 2019 by J.J.’s paternal grandparents.
No one has yet been charged with J.J. or Tylee’s murder. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Vallow and Daybell have also been at the center of many other untimely deaths of people in their families.
