Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham is so thankful for the Apple TV show for quite a few reasons.
In a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, Hannah revealed how the role saved her as well as her daughter.
This past Sunday, Hannah won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. And while accepting her award, Hannah thanked costar Jason Sudeikis, who plays the show’s title role.
“Jason, you’ve changed my life with this … and more importantly, my baby girl’s,” she said. Hannah’s daughter has been diagnosed with a disorder called Henoch-Schönlein purpura.
“I’m honestly so privileged to work with you. I really am,” she said.

Her daughter, also known as Kitty, has suffered from HSP since she was little. HSP is an autoimmune disorder that makes her blood vessels swell.
While speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, Hannah revealed how she wanted to be closer to her daughter while still working, and so she decided to ask the universe to give that to her.
“I just said, ‘Can I thank you for what you’ve given me already, but can I just ask you for something that is close to home so I can do my main role, which is to be mama, but also can I ask that it’s something that really shows what I can do. And I hope that’s not asking too much,'” she said.
