Hiker Claims He Saw and Spoke With Brian Laundrie While Hiking the Appalachian Trail: ‘There Is No Doubt About It’

A Florida hiker says he has no doubt he ran into Brian Laundrie while walking the Appalachian Trail. According to Dennis Davis, it was around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday when he allegedly saw Brian Laundrie driving a white pickup truck.

As Davis further revealed, he claimed that it didn’t register to him at first that he saw Laundrie. But after the encounter, Davis said he looked up photos of Laundrie and now has no doubt that’s who he saw. As you may recall, this is where Dog the Bounty Hunter has been conducting his search for Brian.

In an interview with Fox News, Davis said he called in the sighting to the FBI twice and also notified 911 in two different states, Tennessee and North Carolina. “There is no doubt about it. That was Brian Laundrie I was just talking to. 100%. Not a doubt in my mind,” Dennis Davis said.

Brian Laundrie has been missing since September 14. He is currently wanted for bank fraud after his fiancé Gabby Petito was found dead in Wyoming on September 19.

As Davis explained to Fox News, he and other hikers were looking for a spot to leave their car while they slept on the trailhead Friday night. However, after missing a parking lot near the trail Davis attempted a U-turn when another vehicle approached.

That vehicle slowed down and flashed its lights at Davis signaling that he could complete his maneuver. “I pulled up alongside the vehicle,” Davis revealed. “…I rolled my window down and I started talking with the gentleman. I could tell right away that something wasn’t right with him.”

As David continued, he first thought the driver was “on drugs at first,” but after thinking back, Davis now says he thinks the driver “looked mentally shot.” Davis also said the driver “didn’t look dirty at all.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Brian Laundrie returned from his and Gabby Petito’s cross-country trip on September 1. It’s been reported that Laundrie was in possession of Petito’s white Ford van when he returned to Florida without her.

Gabby Petito’s death has been ruled as a homicide. Details of her cause of death have not been revealed publicly.
