Hilaria Baldwin Says Kids Called Her the ‘Worst Mommy in the World’ After Going on a Date Night With Alec, Gives Update Following Miscarriage

After stepping out for a date night with her husband of six years, Alec Baldwin, Hilaria Baldwin admitted that her kids aren’t fans of when she leaves them.

Alec and Hilaria are the parents of five children, 6-year-old Carmen, 4-year-old Rafael, 3-year-old Leonardo, and 1-year-old Romeo, and 24-year-old Ireland from Alec’s past marriage.

And because Hilaria is a stay-at-home mom, their youngest kids often see Hilaria more than Alec, which could explain their reaction when learning she was attending an event with Alec earlier in November.

According to People, Alec and Hilaria attended the 2019 Museum Gala at the American Museum of Natural History. The mom told People that her kids were unimpressed by her decision to leave them at home.

“My kids were like, ‘What is wrong with you? Why are you leaving? You’re the worst mommy in the world.’ But I’m like, ‘I was with you all day! And I’m with you all the time!’ So I literally just said, ‘I love you, I’ll be home soon.’ And I walked away. They’ll be okay.”

Hilaria joked that she knew her kids wouldn’t miss her for too long, telling People that she usually gets a text from the babysitter telling her they stopped crying about 10 minutes after they leave. “Then from the babysitters, you get the message right after like, ‘They stopped crying.’ And they’re happy. Literally 30 seconds later.”

Hilaria Baldwin Gives an Update on Her Health and Healing Following Miscarriage

Hilaria and Alec’s date night comes just days after Hilaria took to Instagram to reveal that her most recent pregnancy had ended in miscarriage. This was their second miscarriage in just seven months. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Hilaria shared a video of herself as Carmen consoled her after she was given the news.

She wrote in part, “We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be.”

Shortly after her initial post, Hilaria took to Instagram again to share that the D&C she endured left her feeling groggy and crampy, but “physically she’s ok.”

She continued, “Eyes swollen from crying, groggy from anesthesia, crampy from the surgery…but I made it and I want you to know that I’m physically ok. I’m grateful for my family, friends, doctors and nurses, and all of you who have held my hand through this difficult time. You have no idea how much this means to me. One foot in front of the other…now I begin the healing journey.”

Hilaria later shared a photo of one of her sons sleeping on her chest, saying, “My Leo just lay with me like this for like 25 min today…he doesn’t understand what happened, but his soul is so sweet. He helped my heart so much.”

Since being open and honest about her struggle to add a fifth child into their home, Hilaria told People that she is doing “much better” since the D&C and Alec later told Extra that they do plan on trying again. “We’re going to have another one, just not now. It’s a question of time. It was a surprise.”

However, the heartbreak they’ve endured this past year has also brought the couple closer together. Alec joked, “If we were closer… I would be sewn to her.” And Hilaria added that it feels like they’re dating again.
