Little did many people know at the time, when Hilaria Baldwin took the picture below, she was in the middle of contractions and preparing to become a mom of five.
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Welcome Baby Number 5 Together
Something else her and Alec Baldwin’s fans didn’t know is that they were about to welcome their fourth son into the world. As Hilaria told her fans in the past, her oldest child, daughter Carmen was hoping and praying for another sister, but now she couldn’t be more excited to meet her fourth baby brother.
On September 8, Hilaria and Alec welcomed their baby boy, whose name they didn’t immediately share, in a New York City hospital. “We had a baby last night,” the mom wrote on Instagram. “He is perfect and we couldn’t be happier. Stay tuned for a name.”
Shortly announcing the birth of their son, Hilaria shared a photo of her husband, smiling from ear to ear with the ink print of his new baby boy’s footprint on one of his forearms. “No happier moment for a parent,” one person commented under the photo. “It’s all downhill from there.”
The new mom of five also got real about her days-old postpartum body.
In one half of the photo, Hilaria is seen showing off her burgeoning bump the day she gave birth and the other half is what she looks like on the day they were released from the hospital after giving birth. “A day and a half…and a baby later. On the way to the hospital and about to make my way home,” the mom wrote.
She then thanked her body for producing five beautiful children. “Thank you body for all that you have done and all that you continue to do. I am grateful for this journey, housing, and growing my son, delivering him safely, and to feel ready for me to return to me…step by step, taking a path of patience, nurturing, and time.”
The birth of their newest little one comes after Hilaria experience two miscarriage in April and November of 2019. Alec also took to his Instagram to share his joy in finally meeting baby number 5.
“Número Cinco está aqui…(Para mi, número seis) I love you, Hilaria Baldwin. My karma is your karma. Your karma is mine,” he wrote. The first part of his statement, which translates to “Number five is here, but my number six,” acknowledges Alec’s oldest daughter, Ireland, whom he shares with ex Kim Bassinger.

On September 10, Hilaria and Alec finally revealed the name they choose for their newest little one as Eduardo Pau Lucas Baldwin. “Born Sept 8, 2020, at 7:46 pm, he weighed 7lbs 8oz,” Hilaria wrote. “His name means “wealthy guardian of peace and light.” We love you baby Edu.
As her Instagram stories reveal, it seems as though their four other children had at least a little bit of a say in the youngest’s moniker.
