Six months after announcing she and her husband were expecting twins, actress Hilary Swank has made a very special Easter announcement!
SURPRISE! Actress Hilary Swank Makes Major Announcement on Easter!
On Easter Sunday, Swank took to Instagram to share a photo of herself starring at a sunset, while holding her TWINS! That’s right! After announcing she and Philip were expecting twins in October, their baby boy AND baby girl are here!
“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it. ???????????????????? Happy Easter! ???????? Posting from pure Heaven. ????????” the actress captioned the beautiful photo!
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Hilary Swank, at 48-year-old, announced she was pregnant and expecting twins with her husband Philip Schneider in 2022. It’s something Swank has been dreaming of her entire life, but that dream is coming true in what was a shocking development.
Swank originally married Chad Lowe in 1997, but the two divorced in 2007 after ten years of marriage. She was also engaged to Ruben Torres, but they never wed. Schneider didn’t enter the picture until 2016 and the couple dated for two years before tying the knot in August 2018.
Now more than four years later, Swank and Schneider entered the world of parenting with two children on the way. She was visibly and noticeably excited to finally be able to spread the news in her recent appearances on Good Morning America and Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom,” said Swank during her interview. “And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it.” It’s a special moment and I can’t think of a couple that’s more deserving of beautiful twins.
Now in her second trimester, Swank kept the news a secret from just about everyone – even the cast of Alaska Daily, in which she stars in. She explained how she had to navigate the secret when her clothes started to not fit. It’s something we’re sure all soon-to-be-mothers can relate to.
“[I] cut [my jeans] open. And then I put a jacket on that wasn’t in continuity. And [they] came and said, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’ ‘It doesn’t.’ ‘No, it does. I’m going to make it work.’ She’s like, ‘If you’re an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird.’”
The actress went on to call the news ‘unbelievable,’ ‘a blessing,’ and a ‘total miracle,’ adding that twins run in both her family and Schneider’s family – so it was destined to be twins all along. We’re excited to see that bump and will be counting down to the arrival of the twins.
What Else Has Hilary Swank Been Up To?
Back in 2015, Hilary Swank decided to take a break from acting so she can spend more time with her father, retired Sgt. Stephen Michael Swank. At the time, he just had a lung transplant and needed someone to care for him – which Hilary was more than willing to do, of course.
Swank revealed that her father passed away in October 2021 after years of being his sole caretaker. “I grew incredibly close to him during this time, deepening our relationship and savoring every moment we had together,” she said in an open letter posted to Instagram.
Since then, Swank has turned her attention to a new project – Alaska Daily. She plays Eileen Fitzgerald, with the pilot episode airing on Thursday. The show is created by Tom McCarthy and produced by Swank, so she’ll have her fingerprints all over this television drama series.
The series also features Jeff Perry, Grace Dove, Meredith Holzman, Matt Malloy, Pablo Castelblanco, Ami Park, and Craig Frank. Swank’s character is a journalist looking to get a fresh start to her writing career – as well as her life, in general – in Anchorage, Alaska.

After taking three years away from the big screen to care for her father, it seems like she’s slowly getting back into the swing of things – which is good, considering she’s going to have two children running around the house in no time. Oh boy, we can’t wait for that day to finally come!
