Things are getting messy in the June family as Honey Boo Boo (aka Alana Thompson) is seen begging her mother, Mama June, to go to rehab after an ongoing battle with drugs.
Mama June (aka June Shannon) was arrested in March at a local gas station in Alabama after police officers found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia on her and her boyfriend, Geno Doak, as well as in their car. The paraphernalia included a pill bottle filled with crack cocaine and a glass pipe, among other items. The police were initially responding to a call about a domestic violence incident between the couple.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that Mama June has made any steps towards recovery since the arrest. In a clip from Mama June: From Not to Hot (the finale of which aired last Friday at 9 p.m. on WE TV) obtained by TMZ, Honey Boo Boo is seen begging her mom to go to rehab. Watch below.
Honey Boo Boo and her family are terrified that if Mama June doesn’t get help soon, she will not live to see her grandchildren grow up. In the clip, shared above, you can see that Mama June does not seem receptive to her daughter’s plea and is, in fact, quite defensive about her drug use. She doesn’t appear to be in good health overall and collapses during her family’s intervention.
Mama June began dating Geno more than three years ago. Because of their drug use, Honey Boo Boo is currently living with one of her sisters, though would like to return home.
When I’m not hanging out with my three-year-old and husband in Brooklyn, I’m busy writing stories for Mamas Uncut and managing PR + Marketing for Magnolia Bakery, based in New York City. On weekends, you can usually find me at a local park or playground pushing my daughter on the swings, “researching” the best almond croissants in Park Slope or launching into impromptu family dance parties at home, the sidewalk or, every once in awhile, a restaurant bathroom. I’m still trying to master the whole parenting thing, but I have learned that copious amounts of coffee, humor and humility are involved on a daily basis.
