Source Reveals How Chris Rock Really Feels About Will Smith’s Newest Video

Less than a week after Will Smith broke his silence and apologized again to Chris Rock for slapping him on the Oscars stage, a source is revealing Chris Rock’s reaction to his latest video.

A source told People that Chris Rock has moved one and doesn’t intend on reaching out to Will Smith about the incident in the future.

“Chris doesn’t need to talk. This is clearly something that bothers Will more than Chris. Will needs to deal with his issues. Chris is fine,” the source explained to People.

An additional source added that it appears Rock is ready to add the situation into his stand-up set. “The fact that he is making jokes about it already is a good thing,” the source says.

“That means he is assessing it. But the stress of the slap and the aftermath have not taken over his life. Quite the opposite.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Rock was seen on stage with Kevin Hart in July laughing and making light of the Oscars situation in front of a sold-out audience at Madison Square Garden in NYC. While on stage, Hart gifted Rock a goat, as a symbol of him being one of the greatest comedians of all time.

Hart took the opportunity to slide in a subtle dig at Smith by naming the goat after him. This came after Rock told the crowd, “anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” Rock joked.

“I’m not a victim. Yeah, that sh*t hurt, motherf***er. But I shook that sh*t off and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.”

Will Smith broke his three-month silence on Friday, July 29 by sharing a video on Instagram. In his video, as Mamas Uncut previously reported, Will apologized to several people, including Chris, Chris’s mother, and brother, his own family, Questlove—who won the Oscar Chris was presenting, and the fellow Oscar nominees who voted for him to win his first Oscar.

Will shared that he has since reached out to Chris to talk one-on-one but revealed that hasn’t happened yet. “I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk. And when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you.”

“My behavior was unacceptable,” Smith continued. “And I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”

Now we know, this particular conversation will likely never happen. Something Will may have seen coming considering he said this about Chris Rock’s brother, Tony Rock.

“[Tony and I] had a great relationship. Tony Rock was my man. And this is probably irreparable.” Smith additionally apologized to his own family, saying he’s sorry for the scrutiny he brought on them through his inconceivable actions.

“The work I’m trying to do is — I am deeply remorseful — and I’m trying to be remorseful without being ashamed of myself. Right? I’m human, and I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of sh*t,” he said.
