Rumors are running rampant that Johnny Depp may have already landed a new movie role following the favorable outcome of his defamation suit against his ex-wife and fellow actor, Amber Heard.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on June 1, a jury found that Heard defamed her ex-husband when she wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018. In the op-ed, she claimed that she was the face of domestic violence.

Although Heard never mentioned Depp by name, the world associated him with the article and labeled him an abuser. The jury believed Heard’s claims of being an abuse survivor were not legitimate.
During Johnny’s testimonies, he admitted that he believed Heard’s statement about him and their relationship ruin his career and made it hard for him to land acting roles. He was also adamant that he had never hit Heard or any other woman.

What About Depp’s Return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirate of the Caribbean?
Now, the question remains, does this courtroom win open up new doors for Depp to return to acting? Some fans think so.
And now, it is rumored that Johnny Depp will be working with Tim Burton again and joining the cast of Beetlejuice 2. Depp and Burton are no strangers to working together. The pair have joined efforts for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands, and more.
According to IMDB, the storyline reveals that Michael Keaton will reprise his rule as Beetlejuice as will Winona Ryder who will return as Lydia Deetz. Also joining the cast will be Will Arnett and David Harbour.
However, IMDB is run by fellow movie buffs and may not be factually correct. Meaning, the news that Depp is joining the cast has not yet been confirmed. Beetlejuice 2 does not appear on Depp’s IMDB page.
As CNN reports, Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer left Johnny’s future with the franchise to be determined in his latest interview. “Not at this point,” Bruckheimer said. “The future is yet to be decided.”
Right now, the next installment of the franchise may feature a female lead, rather than Captain Jack Sparrow. “We’re talking to Margot Robbie,” he said. “We are developing two ‘Pirates’ scripts — one with her, one without.”

The rumors of his return to the big screen started when people began to claim they saw his name on the call sheet. Beetlejuice 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
In addition to these rumors, many people are commenting on Amber Heard’s upcoming movie roles. According to her IMDB page, she is slated to appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023, In the Fire, which is in post-production, and Run Away With Me, which is in pre-production.
