“I love my father, and I love my country. Today, I am pained for both,” she wrote in a post to her Instagram story on Friday. “I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported a New York grand jury has voted to indict Donald Trump, according to NBC.

The case surrounds the allegations that Trump wrote adult film star Stormy Daniels a check for $130,000 in 2016. The check was reportedly “hush money” to keep Daniels from claiming that she slept with Trump while he was married in 2006.

Trump has repeatedly denied ever having relations with Daniels. The former president labeled the payment as a “legal expense.” This is the first time in American history that a former president has been indicted. The news of the indictment comes after Trump claimed he was preparing to be arrested earlier in March.

According to the reports, he revealed that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday, March 21. According to CNN, the arrest is allegedly “in connection with the investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney next week and called for protests as New York law enforcement prepares for a possible indictment.”

Trump made the announcement of his alleged impending arrest on social media while also calling on his supporters to protest. In part, he wrote, “leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation back.”

According to The New York Times, Trump is expected to arrive in New York City by plane on Monday night, April 3. The city is preparing for a large number of protests and celebrations on Tuesday.

The Times reports that Trump is expected to stay in his apartment in Trump Tower before he will be arraigned in a courthouse in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday. One of Trump’s lawyers, Joe Tacopina, told news anchor Stephanopoulos that the charges were “a political persecution” and “a complete abuse of power.”

The exact charges against Trump have not yet been unsealed. However, as The Times reports, “prosecutors are expected to accuse Trump of falsifying business records to hide the nature of the reimbursements to his former fixer, who had paid the hush money to Daniels.”
