Jennifer Aniston Reveals the Real Reason Why She Never Had Kids: “I Don’t Have Anything To Hide”

In a new interview with Allure, Jennifer Aniston fired back at the years-long speculation that she wasn’t interested in having kids with either of her two previous husbands – Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux. According to the 53-year-old actress, those rumors were ‘absolute lies,’ adding she has nothing to hide.

Aniston was married to Pitt between 2000 and 2005 and was later married to Theroux between 2015 and 2017. At the time of both divorces, many people were speculating that she was ‘just selfish’ and was only interested in her career – ultimately choosing her career over starting a family and having children.

For years, Aniston has remained mum on the subject, allowing tabloids to run with whatever story was selling at that specific moment. Now, the Friends alum isn’t holding back and is ready to give her side of the story – which is far different from what was reported. In fact, she was trying to have kids all along.

At one point in the interview, Aniston revealed what has never been revealed before – there was a time when she was trying to get pregnant. She explained how ‘challenging’ the ‘baby-making road’ was for her, noting the rumors only made things worse. Nonetheless, she says she has ‘zero regrets’ to this day.

“All the years and years and years of speculation. … I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it,” she said, adding that the ship has now sailed.

Now that she knows getting pregnant isn’t in her future plans, she feels a sense of relief now that she doesn’t have to think about it. “There is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore,” she said. With no more uncertainty, she feels ‘the best in who I am today.’

“My late 30s, 40s, I’d gone through really hard s**t, and if it wasn’t for going through that, I would’ve never become who I was meant to be,” she said. “I have such gratitude for all those sh**ty things. Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were.”

Jennifer Aniston Isn’t Totally Giving Up On Finding Love Again

Toward the end of the Allure interview, Jennifer Aniston was asked if she would ever get married again. While she started her answer by saying ‘never say never,’ she went on to explain that she’s not really interested in that right now. Like anyone else, she will always stay open to the idea of being married.

“I’d love a relationship. Who knows? There are moments I want to just crawl up in a ball and say, ‘I need support.’ It would be wonderful to come home and fall into somebody’s arms and say, ‘That was a tough day,’” she continued. While we shouldn’t expect her to find a new hubby, we’re not totally ruling it out.

Aniston also opened up about her hate for social media, adding that she’s not very good at it. The actress joined Instagram in 2019 to help promote her new hair care brand – LolaVie – which didn’t launch until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, she has been trying to get used to social media life.

“I’m really happy that we got to experience growing up, being a teenager, being in our 20s without this social media aspect,” said Aniston, adding that social media doesn’t come naturally to her. Nonetheless, she forced Instagram to crash temporarily as thousands of people rushed to follow her when she joined.
