Reality TV star Jessa Duggar Seewald from Counting On has some good news about her two-year-old son, Henry Seewald. The mother of three responded to a question on a recent Instagram post and provided an update about her son’s speech delay.
Jessa revealed that her son had issues with his speech back in November and it seems like he’s already made progress in just a few months. We’re so happy that Henry is “catching up.”
In an episode of Counting On that aired in November, Jessa discussed her son’s speech delay.
Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald described Henry’s issues on the show. They noticed that the two-year-old was not speaking at the same level as his older brother, Spurgeon had at the same age. As any parents would be, the couple were concerned and decided to see a doctor about Henry’s speech.
“We realize that each kid develops at their own pace, but he’s not been really catching on,” Jessa said at the time. “He’s not really able to talk and communicate what he wants. A lot of the times it’s just grunts and pointing and that kind of thing.”
Doctors evaluated Henry’s hearing and speech.
Doctors determined that Henry’s hearing was perfectly fine, but that he did have a speech delay. The medical professionals suggested Jessa and Ben take Henry to a speech pathologist.

Their family doctor described Henry’s condition, “Developmentally, he’s not behind. He’s on track with where he should be. It just seems to be a speech issue. So, at this point, she’s recommended that we see a speech pathologist and go from there.”
Jessa posted a new picture of Henry and Spurgeon and then she read the comments.
Jessa posted a sweet photo of Henry, Spurgeon and their dad relaxing on the couch. Henry’s got a big smile in it. Shortly after posting the photo, the comments started to roll in. One person left a comment asking about Henry’s speech and how he’s progressing, “How is the youngest doing on his speech?” the comment read.
Jessa took the time to respond and update the fan about their child’s progress.
She responded with good news, writing, “We are going back this morning for a follow-up speech evaluation. I think Henry is really catching up!”
What a great development for Henry and his family!
Being proactive parents really paid off for this couple.
It’s not always easy being a parent and spotting when a child is falling behind on any part of their development. It was smart for Jessa and Ben to take Henry to be evaluated and now he’s on track to catch up with his speech.
