Jessie James Decker Criticizes United Airlines Over the Way They Treated Her Pregnant Sister, Who Was Traveling Alone With Her 2 Kids

On April 16, country pop singer Jessie James Decker took to her Instagram Story to defend her sister, Sydney Rae Bass, over the way she was treated by United Airlines during a recent flight. Bass is five months pregnant and was traveling with her two children – 2-year-old Blaire and 5-year-old Brooklyn Rae.

In the Story, Jessie explained how her youngest daughter ‘accidentally spilled some popcorn in the aisle’ when a flight attendant walked over and handed her sister a trash bag and wet wipe. Bass was told that the captain wanted her to ‘clean up every drop – opposed to the flight attendant cleaning up the mess.

“My poor sister is on her hands and knees, crying in the aisle, completely humiliated and exhausted, with her children while everyone else watched. Way to go, United,” Jessie said – adding it was United who gave her daughters the popcorn. As of Monday, United Airlines has yet to comment on the incident.

Jessie James Decker also argued that United shouldn’t have given the children popcorn if it was a hazard – referencing the fact that her sister was told the spilled popcorn would present a ‘safety hazard.’ Her criticism of United Airlines was shared by Sydney’s husband, Anthony Bass – who wasn’t on the plane.

“The flight attendant @united just made my 22 week pregnant wife traveling with a 5 year old and 2 year old get on her hands and knees to pick up the popcorn mess by my youngest daughter. Are you kidding me?!?!” Anthony said in a tweet, sharing a photo of his two children sitting in their seats on the flight.

Their criticism was met with mixed emotions. On one side of the equation, users were defending Sydney and felt that United should’ve helped her clean the mess up – especially considering she’s traveling alone with two kids, all while being pregnant with a third. If it was puke or vomit, then it’d be a different story.

On the other hand, commenters were siding with United Airlines and felt that it should’ve been Sydney’s responsibility to clean up after her children. “Commercial airlines are not your children’s playground. Pick it up and take responsibility for your kids,” one user wrote – disregarding the fact that she is pregnant.

Jessie James Decker Celebrates 35th Birthday

The criticism towards United Airlines comes just a few days after Jessie James Decker celebrated her 35th birthday on April 12. “This is 35 and I am right where I want to be. That’s a pretty damn good feeling to have,” she wrote in an Instagram caption, sharing a photo of her blowing out candles on her cake.

Her sister, Sydney Rae Bass, also took to Instagram to wish Jessie a very happy birthday. “Happy birthday to my hilarious, loving, giving, salad making queen, crazy big sister [Jessie] my bestie since birth, but with age we continue to get closer and I love it,” she wrote in her own Instagram caption.

On Monday, Jessie James Decker took to her Instagram Story again to do a little Q&A with fans. She was asked how she stays so positive and confident. “I count my blessings. I focus on all the good things in my life. As far as my confidence, I have my moments. I have things that make me insecure too,” she said.
