Jill Duggar has been making waves after publicly showcasing an “obedience game” she plays with her children that did not sit well with the general public.
This past week, Jill divulged how she is teaching her kids obedience and many followers and fans alike did not digest the content as well as she probably would have hoped.
According to Jill’s story, Israel, 6, and Samuel, 3, were struggling with following directions that day — which prompted Jill to encourage them to obey with a game she created that seems similar to Mother May I or Simon Says.
Essentially, she gives them a command, and they have to complete it before she will give them their next assignment — and they have to say “Yes, ma’am” each time she offers them a new set of instructions.
“They love it and ask to play it!” Jill said, via the Sun. “We used to play this growing up too.”

So why are people up in arms exactly over this seemingly childish game?
Many are calling into question Jill’s parenting strategy.
The finger has been pointed to “cult brainwashing” while others say she is simply teaching her children to “blindly obey.”

Others compared this to blanket training. What is that you ask?
Blanket training is a parenting technique that Jill’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, used where they teach their babies from a young age that if they crawl off a blanket to get a toy that’s been placed right out of their reach, they’re smacked or hit with a switch to teach them to listen to their parents.
Jill has yet to address the controversial post.
