Three months ago, one of the eldest Duggar’s, John David Duggar was involved in a plane crash. According to recent reports, on October 29, John David was the pilot of a Piper PA-30 aircraft when it went down in Waverly, Tennessee.
According to a report of the accident following an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, the plane went down around 7:13 p.m.
John David Duggar Was Piloting a Plane That Crashed in Tennessee
According to Fox News, Duggar is the director of business for a nonprofit organization owned by Medic Corps, which owns the aircraft he was flying. The organization “deploys aircrafts and emergency medical care during mass casualty incidents.”
NTSB’s report revealed that there were two other unknown passengers on the plane when it went down. Miraculously, no one was injured, but the aircraft sustained “substantial” damage, Fox News reports.
According to People, John David Duggar told a dispatcher that the plane he was piloting went into “double engine failure” before it crashed. It remains unclear why John David was flying the plane and where they were going.

John David had only just received his flight instructor certification a few months before the crash in the summer of 2021. And the month after the crash, Duggar obtained his commercial pilot license in November.
Abbie, John David’s wife, also has a student pilot license which she reportedly obtained in August 2020. The couple shares a daughter together, who recently celebrated her second birthday. And their shared love of airplanes has significance in their relationship. They got engaged in an airplane hanger.
John David Duggar has not yet spoken out regarding the plane crash. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. While John David hasn’t spoken out regarding the crash, the couple celebrated their anniversary and posted about it on social media just seven days after. Both he and Abbie looked happy in the photo.
This is just another thing the Duggar family has endured in 2021. From Josh Duggar being found guilty of possessing child pornography to John David’s twin sister Jana Duggar being investigated for child endangerment, it’s been a rough go for this family.
