John Stamos receives backlash after sharing images of him shaving Dave Coulier’s head

After revealing he was diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, actor and comedian Dave Coulier is sharing updates on his journey with his fans.

Coulier, who is best known for his role as Joey in the legendary hit sitcom “Full House” and later “Fuller House,” talked about the first symptom he experienced before receiving a diagnosis during an interview with Today.

Coulier revealed that he had come down with a cold a little over a month ago. The lymph nodes in his groin swelled to a golf ball-size lump.

According to Coulier, he previously experienced swollen lymph nodes in his neck and arm pits when he was sick before. But nothing quite like this.

“It swelled up immediately,” the 65-year-old told Today. “I thought, ‘Wow, I’m either really sick, or my body’s really reacting to something.’”

After visiting his doctor and undergoing several tests, “(My doctors) said, ‘Hey, we wish we had better news, but you have non-Hodgkin lymphoma, B-cell lymphoma,’” Coulier shared. “It was a shock.”

Now, on Instagram, his “Full House” co-star John Stamos shared images of the two lifelong friends together.

Stamos was wearing a bald cap and shaving Coulier’s head.

“Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro, Dave Coulier,” Stamos wrote.

“You’re handling this with so much strength and positivity — it’s inspiring. I know you’re going to get through this, and I’m proud to stand with you every step of the way. I love you.”

Stamos also praised Coulier’s wife, Melissa Coulier, for being wonderful and his “true life line.”

Though many praised Stamos for being by his friend’s side, some took issue with how he is showing support.

“Hate to be that person but this is more insulting by putting on a bald cap then not shaving (your) head. A person with cancer doesn’t have a ‘cap’ they can take off. Prayers and strength to Dave,” one comment read.

“This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen ‘threw on a bald cap in solidarity,’ that’s like saying I wear rags in the streets while pushing a cart in solidarity with the unhoused or something,” another comment read.

Melissa Coulier, however, responded in the comments, writing, “We love you, so much.”

Stamos originally pledged his loyalty to Coulier on Instagram by sharing photos of them together throughout the years.

“My brother from day 1. Love you and I’ll be by your side through it all.”
