Josh Duggar Denies Plea Deal After All of the Defense’s Motions Were Denied

Despite having several losses in the courtroom so far, Josh Duggar made a major decision when it comes to his fate on October 18. As the prosecution and the defense gear up for this particular trial, which is set to begin in November, Duggar’s legal team had filed several motions over the last several months.

Each motion was an attempt to have his case completely thrown out. However, each of the motions was denied by U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks.

“All motions were denied from the bench following an in-person evidentiary hearing on September 27, 2021. The Court has orally explained its reasons for denying the motions; the following Order provides further explanation. To the extent anything in this Order differs from what was stated from the bench, this Order will control,” the judge wrote in a memo, according to Fox News.

It is unclear what Josh Duggar’s defense will be now that their motions have been denied.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Josh Duggar was arrested in April while he was working at his used car dealership and charged with possessing child pornography which was reportedly found on his work computer. Also found allegedly found on his work was a software designed to keep people honest with their internet searches.

The software would send reports to another person, in this case, Josh Duggar’s wife Anna. However, it is believed that Anna was never notified of Josh’s illegal internet behavior because he used a network that was not registered through the software.

Agent Gerald Faulkner revealed in his testimony that the files allegedly found on Josh Duggar’s computer revealed the sex abuse of a child ranging from 18 months to 12 years of age. Faulkner also added that the images were “in the top five of the worst of the worst that I’ve ever had to examine.”

And now that all of the motions have been denied, Josh Duggar was faced with another decision, to accept the plea deal he was offered or not. The deadline to accept was on October 18.

Josh Duggar made the shocking decision to not accept the plea deal. He now faces a maximum of 20 years in prison should he be found guilty.

Nonetheless, since being arrested and put on house arrest, Josh has maintained his innocence. And his wife, Anna, who is currently pregnant with their 7th child, has stood by his side.

As The Sun reported, this was the second plea deal Josh was offered in this case. He was first offered a separate plea deal in March before he was arrested and officially charged.
