Hours after Josh Duggar’s fate was sealed following a 12-person jury finding him guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography, members of his family are beginning to speak out. While Josh has yet to be sentenced for his crime, he faces up to 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.

One of the first relatives of Josh Duggar’s family to speak out was his cousin Amy Duggar King. King has been very outspoken since the beginning of Josh’s trial.

Following the reveal of the guilty verdict, Amy took to Instagram to share two separate posts. First, Amy wrote, “My the jurors and Judge Brooks seek healing/counseling from all that was exposed to them. May the children grow up with real Godly men as father figures who will guide and protect them. May the people who were once disbelief have their eyes opened for the first time.”

Amy then returned to the social platform to share a message to the now women Josh hurt in the past. “May the daughters who were abused feel validated. You are truly beautiful and worthy of love. May there be intense counseling/healing. May there be wisdom for all those involved on how to move forward. Thank you, Jesus. Justice has been served.”

Additionally, Jill Duggar Dillard’s husband, Derick Dillard also reacted to the verdict. Derick was reported inside the courtroom for most of Josh’s trial.

While talking with reporters Derick explained his reasoning for his presence to People Magazine. “We just wanted to, among other things, see the facts for ourselves,” he said, adding, “America is the best country to get justice.”

Jill was only present for the trial on Wednesday, December 9. She was reportedly expected to testify during the trial, but ultimately never did. Jill was one of the minors molested by her brother years ago.

While Jill has not yet released a personal statement regarding the situation, Derick told People that he and his wife will put out a formal statement in the near future.

In a statement made by Josh Duggar’s legal team, they said, “We appreciate the jury’s lengthy deliberations, we respect the jury’s verdict, and we intend to appeal.”
