The Duggar family continues to be immersed in controversy after news broke that Jim Bob and Michelle‘s eldest son, Josh Duggar, was arrested is facing charges of child pornography.
Before that, Josh was also at the center of attention when news broke he had molested five of his sisters as a teen.
And while Josh is now facing up to 40 years in prison for the child pornography charges — it comes as a shock to no one his most recent scandal is heavily affecting his siblings and those relationships are shifting as a result.
It is not like the Duggars to address controversies online as they are usually covered by their reality show, Counting On. For instance, Jill Duggar, her husband Derick Dillard, and Jim Bob, have not been getting along after the couple blew up over money and the show.
As a result, most of the family has ignored this issue and as a result, there has become a distance between them. The rift is mostly between Derick and Jill’s dad. But as a result, Jill has not seen her siblings much lately.

Instead, the other Duggars aren’t discussing the break but rather ignoring Jill, together.
But this controversy was too big to sweep under the rug and carry on. And as a result, many family members made public statements on their social media regarding Josh’s arrest.
On May 12, Jill Duggar posted the following photo to Instagram with her dawning a modest bathing suit. On this particular post, Jill’s sister left a comment — and when scrolling back to look through her other images, this is not common for the Duggar children to interact with Jill and her family.
The only one who appears consistently is Amy King, an ex-communicated cousin who has also spoken out against the family in the past. But in this moment, Joy-Anna Duggar left a supportive comment on Jill’s post — which is one of the first public (and positive) messages we have witnessed between Jill and any of her siblings.
“You’re beautiful, Jill,” Joy-Anna wrote, adding a red heart emoji. To which Jill replied, writing: “Aww, thanks, sis,” with the same red heart emoji.
And while the short comment may not appear to be much — for these sisters, it is a massive step in the right direction.
