Kaley Cuoco hits back at the ‘mom shaming’ critics and says she’s doing her best

Kaley Cuoco is doing what she feels is best for her daughter, whether you agree with it or not.

The 38-year-old “Big Bang Theory” star, who recently spoke exclusively with E! News, had plenty to say when asked about all the “mom shaming” critics who disagree with her parenting style.

“Every mom I can guarantee is doing the best they can,” Cuoco said in the interview, which is set to air on Nov. 18, at 11 p.m ET.

“Look, everyone’s got something to say about everything. There’s no change before I had kids, to having kids, to where I am in my life,” she continued.

Cuoco and her fiancé, “Ozark” actor Tom Pelphrey, started dating in April 2022 and announced that they were expecting their first child later that year.

Their daughter, Matilda, who goes by Tildy for short, was born in March 2023, more than one year before the couple announced their engagement.

“It’s just this business, it’s this life. It is what it is. But yeah, we got to stop at the shaming,” Cuoco told E! News.

“I just feel like every kid is so different,” she added. “What’s good for your kid might not be good for mine.”

Cuoco went on to give an example of one of the things she does that a lot of other parents might not agree with — and it has to do with screen time.

“She just watched like, seven movies on HBO,” Kaley told the outlet with a giggle. “Yeah, she’s watching Game of Thrones when I get home.”

While many parents limit the amount of screen time their children get, Cuoco says allowing her daughter to watch TV is actually resulting in her daughter wanting to find other things to do.

“I think that’s the trick,” she said.

And while other celebrity parents tend to not want their children to follow in their footsteps, Cuoco seems to welcome that idea, arguing that it’s in her family’s DNA as her sister, Briana, also acts.

“I don’t know how this child will not be an actress. I mean, it’s an acting family,” she said. “That girl is a performer. There’s no way she’s not going to perform.”

This isn’t the first time Cuoco has spoken out against “mom shamers.”

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in January, Cuoco talked about a time when she and Pelphrey were “mom shamed” on a Thanksgiving flight in 2023.

“We’re having one of those flights that you hear … other people have, and you’re like, ‘Ugh, that sucks for them,’ and it actually happened to us,” she said to Kimmel.

At one point during the flight, their daughter was crying, so they turned on a sound machine to calm her down and get her to fall asleep.

Some passengers took exception to the sound machine, however. Eventually, one of the flight attendants asked them to turn the sound machine off.

“Tom’s got her and I’m sitting there. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, oh my god’ and I can feel Tom be like, ‘Hey, ask the passenger if she wants to hold our screaming child,’” she explained on the show.

Her response to the madness: “Stop judging the the moms out there.”
