The actress, 47, who shares her 22-year-old daughter named Lily Mo Sheen with ex, actor Michael Sheen.
In a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” to promote her new film “Jolt,” she admitted it was the pandemic that separated her and her daughter for the longest amount of time since Lily was born. The two both being locked down for work was part of the issue, according to Beckinsale.
“I haven’t seen my daughter for two years because of everything. Also, I went to Canada working and she couldn’t come see me,” Beckinsale shared. “Two years of not seeing your child is, to me, the most preposterous thought.”

And, as a result, when the lockdown hit in March of 2020, traveling across the country to see each other was not an option.
But when travel did open back up, the two were still unable to meet up. Beckinsale revealed she traveled to Canada to shoot “Jolt,” which meant further lockdown procedures and travel restrictions in order to comply with on-set safety measures.
“Thank goodness for FaceTime and all that, but we’re both panicking that we’ll look really old to each other,” Beckinsale noted.
Beckinsale was not the only one whose work schedule hampered her from seeing her family during the coronavirus pandemic.

She went. onto reveal that Lily’s plans to follow in her mom’s footsteps led her to her first movie role in a new film, where she co-stars alongside Nicolas Cage.
“She did her first movie last year, she’s playing Nicolas Cage’s daughter in a movie where Nicolas Cage is playing Nicolas Cage. And it sounds very wild,” Beckinsale said of her daughter’s role in the upcoming film “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.”
“She’s off and running. It’s quite scary,” she added. But despite seeing each other virtually, Beckinsale revealed how she and her daughter are worried that they’ll look older to one another when they finally do reunite in person.
“She’s like, ‘I’m just worried that you’ll think I’ll look old.’ I’m like, ‘I’m gonna look old!'” she laughed.
