The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, posted this past week to Instagram about the celebration with friends and family during the Platinum Jubilee.

“What a fantastic weekend of celebrations. Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special,” Kate began her post.

“Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember.”

The platinum jubilee is the celebration of the Queen’s 70 years on the British throne, which continues to be a historic moment for England.

A bit of background on the Jubillee before we explain the Louis four-act Jubilee Pageant at Buckingham Palace, including a military parade, a celebrity-packed carnival celebrating British cultural and technological innovation during the queen’s reign, as well as a pack of puppet corgis created in the image of the queen’s famous pets.

And while Jubilee is (usually) focused on Queen Elizabeth, Prince Louis stole the show this year.

The Duchess of Cambridge concluded her post with a knowing reference to her youngest son’s behavior during the Jubilee, saying: “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…”

Louis is the youngest child of Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

And for some context, while standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the adorable royal tot was seen fidgeting, covering his eyes, holding his head in his hands, and resting his chin throughout the ceremony on Buckingham Palace’s balcony.

He even had mom Kate in stitches over his reaction to the loud boom that occurred during the flyover. However, when the 4-year-old held his ears and left his mouth wide open, many were quick to turn it into a meme, and rightfully so!

Mike Tindall, an extended member of the Royal family, had some insight about the tinier Royals during the celebrations that may have explained Louis’s energy levels — citing lots of “sweets.”

He added, “Louis, he was just wanting to have fun. And my two [daughters, Mia and Lena] are always mischievous, so it’s trying to keep a lid on. There were a lot of sweets out back though, so there was a real sugar high.”
