Keanu Reeves admits he has been married to former co-star Winona Ryder for the past 29 years due to a specific scene in the 1992 film, Dracula.
In the Francis Ford Coppola-directed film, at one point, Reeves and Ryder’s characters marry in a religious ceremony.
“We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God,” Reeves told Esquire in a video published Monday.
However, it should be noted that this was a confirmation on Reeves’ behalf as Ryder was the first to reveal the big (sort of true?) news.
“We actually got married in ‘Dracula,’ Ryder revealed to Entertainment Weekly while she and Reeves were doing press for their 2018 movie Destination Wedding.
“No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life,” Ryder continued. “In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”

She also went on to admit that she still has feelings for her husband.
“Well, I had a pretty, pretty big, healthy crush on this guy,” Ryder stammered awkwardly.
“I had a big, healthy crush on you, too,” Reeves replied.
And when asked the status of said crushes, the two quickly admitted those feelings are alive and well.
“It’s still raging, trust me,” said Ryder.
Elsewhere in the interview, Reeves listed all the reasons why he loves working with Ryder.

“A good friend, sense of humor, intelligence, mind, view of the world, beautiful heart, beautiful spirit and a d*** fine actress.”
And while we want them to kiss already too, Reeves is currently dating visual artist Alexandra Grant.
“Everyone is ecstatic that he’s finally found happiness with such a wonderful woman. Keanu doesn’t stop raving about her! She’s kind, warm and spiritual, just like Keanu, and a great communicator,” a source revealed in November 2019 to Life & Style. “She’s one of the few people who has managed to get Keanu to open up about his emotions and past.”
While Ryder has been with her current partner, Scott Mackinlay Hahn, since 2011. Hahn is the founder of Loomstate, a fashion company based on creating sustainable clothes.
