So many celebs are deciding to expand their families. Like Meghan Trainor did on the Today Show, a few hours later, fellow singer Kelly Rowland also announced she is expecting.
In a gorgeous spread for Women’s Health, Rowland revealed that a second child had only been a conversation between her and her husband, Tim Weatherspoon before COVID-19 hit. But when their family went into quarantine they decided to see what would happen if the started trying for baby number two.
“Surprise!,” Kelly Rowland.
Rowland and Weatherspoon are also the proud parents of 5-year-old Titan Jewell Weatherspoon. Rowland told Women’s Health that it’s a blessing that she was able to get pregnant right away and struggled with announcing the big news because so many people around the world are going through such difficult times.
“But you still want to remind people that life is important,” she ultimately concluded. “And being able to have a child …I’m knocking at 40’s door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me.”
Rowland went on to reveal that her first trimester wasn’t the easiest as she dealt with an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion. In comparing her second pregnancy with her first, the singer revealed that during her first, “I swam, I did yoga, I did weights, I jogged and walked,” she said — but this time around, she’s taking it slow with walks, stretches, and yoga.”
And on top of that, Rowland is also dedicated to doing right by her body by “drinking four liters of water a day, eating smaller, more frequent meals to curb cravings, and avoiding meals past 7 p.m.”
And now that the news of their pregnancy is out, Kelly Rowland is both focusing on getting in as much quality time with her son as she can, while also creating the album her fans are so patiently waiting for. “I was thinking, Oh my god, my fans are gonna be so disappointed,” she told Women’s Health. “They wanted an album first, but they got a baby! And I was like, ‘I have to figure this out so they get both.’”
