Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Health Scare and Lupus Diagnosis
The mom of four has earned some downtime at the ranch after a recent health scare. She told Entertainment Tonight during a recent interview that she had such severe pain in her hands, she wasn’t able to pick up her kids.
In addition to numbness in her hands, she revealed during a recent episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians that she was also experiencing nausea and exhaustion. She was finally diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.
After receiving the diagnosis, she revealed, “I really had to get myself together because I do have kids and I do have a family that I just have to be positive and get it together for. No matter what’s going on in your life, you can take that time to grieve for a second … and then figure out how to be positive about it because it’s not going to change. There’s no point in being depressed and staying in that headspace, but I felt it for a minute.”
Despite the health scare, things are very happy at the Kardashian-West home. Kardashian West told People that all four kids are finally getting along after the arrival of her newest baby, Psalm, who was born in May.
“Everyone loves each other. Everyone is helpful. And everyone loves him. Like, obsessed with him,” she adds.
When I’m not hanging out with my three-year-old and husband in Brooklyn, I’m busy writing stories for Mamas Uncut and managing PR + Marketing for Magnolia Bakery, based in New York City. On weekends, you can usually find me at a local park or playground pushing my daughter on the swings, “researching” the best almond croissants in Park Slope or launching into impromptu family dance parties at home, the sidewalk or, every once in awhile, a restaurant bathroom. I’m still trying to master the whole parenting thing, but I have learned that copious amounts of coffee, humor and humility are involved on a daily basis.
