The Kardashian family has been sharing glamourous snaps all summer as they travel across the globe. Luckily for us, there has been no shortage of adorable mama moments and coordinating cousin fashions. But we’re talking about the Kardashians here, which means there’s bound to be kontroversy lurking around the corner. And sure enough, Kim Kardashian‘s recent snap of daughter North West has brought the mom-shamers out.
No stranger to controversy, Kim recently shared a sweet moment between herself and 6-year-old daughter North locking their fingers together, adding the caption: “Pinky swear we’re besties for life!!!”

While most were melting over the mama-daughter love, some haters were quick to pounce, shaming the mom-of-four for allowing her young daughter to wear such large gold hoop earrings.
“Kim ur letting ur daughter wear hoops that big what the helll . . . she has grown up to [sic] fast,” one commenter wrote. “Wow!!! Sad!!! That little girl will never be a little girl,” another said.”
It didn’t stop there. “So cute but my daughter WOULD NEVER be wearing those big hoop earring at such a young age come on mama keep your baby girl humble ! some beautiful diamond stubs fit so much better on a young girl,” another user commented on the photo.
And the hits just keep on coming:
“Wow!!! Sad!!! That little girl will never be a little girl.”
“Who else thinking those hoops on north are way to damn big for her age.”
“Them hoops….wayyyy too much for a kid that little. Smh.”
But thankfully not every commenter was deeply offended by the thought of hoop earrings:
“People hate so much that North is wearing hoops. Like are you the mother? No. Let Kim decide what she can and can’t wear. North is her daughter anyway. She looks super cute and sassy,” one commenter said in Kim’s defense.
“Yall really will come for her regardless of what she does. Like you didn’t play dress up with earrings when you were little,” said another.
We know the Kardashians are a “Love ’em or hate ’em” family, but even if you hate ’em, can you not just let them live? Let the little girl wear earrings!
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has shared in the past how much her oldest child loves to play dress up and we personally can’t get enough of her outfits. “My Northie girl is the ultimate fashionista! She comes with me to fabric stores and picks out what she likes and for our Japan trip I let her style herself,” shared Kim. “I should have let her style me too lol. She loves it. She’s having fun and I am so happy she’s so expressive.”
