Kim Kardashian Speaks After Balenciaga’s Disturbing Holiday Campaign Involving Kids

Over the last few months, it seems like Kim Kardashian hasn’t been able to step away from the scandal. From alleged new sex tapes, divorces, break ups, to interviews gone awry, Kim has dealt with it all.

And now, Kim is addressing the disturbing ads made public by a brand that she has worked incredibly close with over the years.

Earlier this month, the high-end fashion brand known as Balenciaga published its holiday campaign. The photos featured young children dressed in Balenciaga fashion while holding teddy bears that were wrapped in bondage.

The advertisements, understandably, horrified many people. Now, several parents and a-list celebrities that have worked with the brand are speaking out.

In her statement shared to her Instagram Story, Kim wrote, “I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.”

Kim, who is a mother of four, continued saying, “I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society – period.”

“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.”

Kim then responded to the calls for her to discontinue her partnerships with the brand. “As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently reevaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – and the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”

In a statement of its own, Balenciaga said, “We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot.”

The company has since sued the agency responsible for creating the images.
