Reality star Kim Zolciak Biermann and her husband of 11 years former football player Kroy Biermann are over.
According to TMZ, on May 8, breaking news revealed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the former NFL player are getting a divorce. The news of their split comes months after their home was nearly foreclosed on and reports suggest the couple owes nearly $1.1 million in back taxes.

Kim filed for divorce on April 30. According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Kim claimed the reason for their impending divorce was because their marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
Kim went on to ask for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of the four children they share. Kim also has two grown children, Brielle and Ariana Biermann, from a previous relationship.
The documents further revealed that Kim wants spousal support from Kroy and she asked to restore her name back to her maiden name. The last time the couple shared a photo of themselves together was back in December 2022.
According to the IRS, Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties. These discrepancies are from 2013, 2017, and 2018. They also owe $15,000 to the state of Georgia where their home is.
It remains unclear if the home they share in Atlanta remains in foreclosure. Back in February, PEOPLE reported Zolciak-Biermann wasn’t concerned about the forecloser notice and had no plans of moving or selling the home.
Several sources alluded to the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star telling friends that the incident is nothing more than a ‘misunderstanding’ and that the issue is now ‘being sorted out.’ Around the same time, Brielle and Ariana Biermann were spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Paparazzi were quick to stop them and ask about their family home entering foreclosure and being up for auction. They mimicked their mother’s sentiment.
Neither Kim nor Kroy have issued statements on the news of their divorce.
