Kourtney Kardashian Reflects on How IVF Treatment Has Affected Her Appearance and the Rude Comments She Receives on Social Media

In the latest episode of The Kardashians on Thursday, Kourtney Kardashian opened up about some of the harsh comments she receives on social media now that the reality star has gained 20 pounds. Despite the backlash, the reality star has learned to accept her new ‘thicker body.’

“Every single person on social media is always like, ‘Kourtney’s pregnant. Kourtney’s gained so much weight,’” Kourtney told her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, on the show. “It’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re actually going through,” she argued.

Kourtney took the time to explain the reasoning behind her weight gain. “So obviously my body’s changed. But it was all of the hormones that the doctors put me on,” she said. For those that don’t know, Kourtney and her husband, Travis Barker, are attempting to have a baby via IVF.

IVF, also known as in vitro fertilization, is a type of assisted reproductive technology (ART) that can take months of treatment before a successful pregnancy. Kourtney and Travis have already been at it for several months and it is the sole reason behind Kourtney’s body transformation.

“Eight months of IVF treatment has definitely taken a toll on my body mentally and physically. I think it’s taken me a lot to get me to the place of feeling really comfortable and happy with the changes,” said Kourtney Kardashian. She also reflected on the times when she was skinnier.

“When I was super skinny, it’s like a time when I was super anxious… Not about eating. Not about staying at a certain weight. But, like, just in toxic relationships. I used to always say this: When I’m super skinny, just know I’m not happy.” She used to be 95 pounds but is now 115.

Kourtney Kardashian is lucky to have a husband like Travis Barker. “Having a partner who is so supportive of me and always complimenting me, no matter what, it’s just helped me to really embrace the changes and actually to the point where I love the changes now,” said Kourtney.

It seems as though she’s in a much better place, which is all that really matters – and it’s not like she has anything to worry about, she looks beautiful! “I also love being curvier. It’s just channeling that queen energy and embracing the woman that I am,” the reality star added.

We’re excited to follow their journey toward pregnancy and can’t wait to see them raise their first child together. They each have 3 children from past relationships. Kourtney has two sons and a daughter, while Travis has a son, a daughter, and a stepdaughter he remains close with.

The two started dating in 2020, made it official in 2021, got engaged later that year, and finally tied the knot on May 15, 2022. While the two have yet to move in with each other, they do live on the same block and are planning on taking that step when they get their lifestyles situated.
