Parents are suing a daycare facility in Las Vegas, alleging that an employee threw their two-year-old, breaking his femur.
Court documents, obtained by a local Las Vegas Fox News affiliate, state that the incident occurred last May at the Crème de la Crème daycare and preschool.

The lawsuit was filed last August in the District Court of Clark County, Nevada. To protect the victim’s identity court documents list the victim as “B.R.” and his parents were named as “C.R.” and “R.R.”
According to the documents, C.R. received a call from an employee at Crème de la Crème asking the parent to collect their child because he would not stop crying. On arrival, C.R. noticed the child had an ice pack on his leg.
When asked about the injury C.R. was told by a daycare employee that B.R. had been pushed by another child. The employee also provided an incident report.
C.R. decided to take the injured child to University Medical Center Quick Care, the documents state. After an X-ray was performed, it was revealed that B.R.’s leg “had been severely fractured.”
According to an attorney for the family, the parents were suspected and blamed for child abuse. That’s when the family decided to request surveillance video from the daycare to see the incident for themselves.
After seeing the video, the parents said the daycare misrepresented how B.R.‘s injuries occurred.
Attorney Janice Parker alleges that the daycare employee, Elicia Miller, is to blame. Parker accused Miller of “picking up B.R. under the armpits and throwing B.R. across her body, from right to left.”
B.R.’s family is suing the daycare and Miller on several counts including negligence and abuse. They also have asked for $50,000 in punitive damages.
Miller was initially charged with child abuse but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted child abuse, the outlet said. Sentencing is expected on March 14.
“For 40 years, our number one priority is the safety and security of the children in our care,” Tony Riccardi, Chief Operating Officer of Crème de la Crème said in a statement. “Immediately after this incident, we terminated the employment of the teacher involved.”

This is any parent’s worst nightmare. This goes to show how important it is to ask for all available information, including any surveillance footage, if your child is injured while in someone’s care. We are pleased that Miller was discharged from her job as a result.
