Friend of Jordan’s, Max Greenfield—best known for his work on the hit show New Girl—also shared the last text message he received from the comedy shortly before his tragic passing. According to Greenfield, he was at a book signing for his new children’s book when he received a text for Jordan saying, “I tried to get in. I saw that you [were] so famous they wouldn’t let me in. And they turned my little ass away.”

Greenfield continued telling E! News, that Jordan made sure to throw a little dig in there as well, adding, “But congratulations. I couldn’t stay. I had to go anyway because I have important things to do.”

After throwing light-hearted shade at Greenfield, Jordan texted, “But congratulations. I couldn’t stay. I had to go anyway because I have important things to do.” Max admitted that he never had the chance to respond to Leslie Jordan, who would pass away just two days later.
