Rihanna Donates $2.1 Million to Victims of Domestic Violence Affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic

Bad Gal Riri — or Rihanna, as we tend to call her — just did a good thing. A very good thing. The musician and makeup mogul donated $2.1 million to domestic violence victims through her Clara Lionel Foundation. The donation is part of a partnership with tech giant Jack Dorsey, the CEO of both Twitter and Square, who is also donating $2.1 million to the cause. Both donations will go to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles and is expressly for victims of domestic violence affected by the “stay at home” order currently in place for residents of Los Angeles. This is not the first major donation Rihanna has made in response to the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak that has reached nearly every corner of the globe. In March, Rihanna’s foundation made an incredible $5 million donation spread out to many charities actively fighting the havoc caused by the outbreak. Rihanna also donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the city of New York, for which she received a direct “thank you” from governor Andrew Cuomo.
