Anna Nicole Smith‘s daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead got quite the surprise when she was able to meet Janet Jackson at a gala for the 148th annual Kentucky Derby.
But what was more amazing? She was wearing the same outfit the singer once wore to the same event almost two decades ago. Larry, 49, revealed that the attire Dannielynn, 15, was wearing once belonged to the “Escapade” singer in an Instagram post on the joint account that he shares with his teenage daughter.

It all happened at the 33rd annual Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala this past Friday evening.
According to the Daily Mail, when Jackson laid her eyes on Danielynn the singer exclaimed, “That’s my outfit!”
One of the event’s organizers told People how Dannielynn “looked gorgeous” and that “she is getting so tall, she’s almost as tall as her dad now.”
Jackson, meanwhile, Barnstable-Brown says, looked like a “goddess in the flesh.”
He adds: “Janet Jackson came in and when just absolutely couldn’t be any sweeter.”
“She was so sweet and down to earth, and she was mingling with guests,” Barnstable-Brown says. “She was talking to everybody.”

Last year, Dannielynn also attended the Kentucky Derby with her dad, donning a bright blue Jovani suit paired with an elaborate white headpiece, sparkly ballet flats, and a matching face mask for the occasion.
“It’s that time of year again,” Larry captioned a series of three photos on Instagram of himself and Dannielynn. “The @kentuckyderby weekend is here!” continued Larry. “Even though our favorite event The Barnstable-Brown Party won’t be back until next year, we decided to head out on this beautiful day to Churchill Downs racetrack in preparation for The Kentucky Derby.”
“Dannielynn ‘finished first’ in her @jovanifashions pantsuit and a beautiful white-flowered fascinator. She said she wanted to wear something entirely different than she had in the past. I guess that means no more ‘little girl’ dresses??” the proud dad concluded. “She cleaned out the chocolate brownies, ice cream, and nachos while at the same time critiquing my outfit.”
