Luke Bryan Says He Gave Katy Perry’s Daisy a BB Gun as a Baby Gift

American Idol‘s Luke Bryan revealed a unique gift he gave to Katy Perry‘s baby girl, Daisy Dove. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the singer said he gifted his fellow Idol judge a BB gun for her newborn daughter.

The singer explained that he was motivated to give the unconventional gift because of the name Perry and Orlando Bloom chose for their daughter, noting that the air rifle he gave was a “Daisy BB gun.”

“It just seemed to be the right gift,” Bryan joked to Jimmy Kimmel.

Although he felt the gift appropriate, the country star does not expect little Daisy to take aim at anything any time soon lamenting that the BB gun “Will never see the light of day.”

Baby Daisy is still enjoying her first months on this earth after being born in August to Perry and Bloom. At the time, the couple said “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”

While the new parents have yet to talk extensively about their daughter’s birth, they commented that the delivery had been a “peaceful” one. The couple made the announcement in partnership with UNICEF, a charity that Bloom is passionate about.

Bryan seemed in awe of his colleague, Perry, who he spoke with People about following the birth of Daisy. He recounted the time’s he’d seen the new mom on set with her daughter.

“I never had a doubt she would be a tremendous mother,” the singer said of the new mom at the time.

“It’s just really amazing being there with Katy and watching her [with Daisy],” Bryan told the outlet at the time. “Sometimes in the breaks, she’ll FaceTime Orlando and little Daisy Dove. And so, I’ll get to say, ‘Hey.’ But just watching Katy embrace being a mother is a very beautiful thing to watch.”

“She’d come on set; she would’ve been up nursing all night,” the Idol judge said of the breastfeeding mom. “Katy’s in the full swing of things with nursing, so we’ve had to work around her schedule. But she’s been a trouper and showing up and working like she always does. I know she’s doing it on minimal sleep, so she’s a rockstar.”

Bryan himself is no stranger to parenting. He and his wife, Caroline Boyer have two sons together, Thomas Boyer “Bo” Bryan, born March 18, 2008, and Tatum “Tate” Christopher Bryan, born August 11, 2010. He also cares for his late sister and brother-in-laws‘ children, Tilden “Til” and nieces Kris and Jordan.

The singer has been a judge on American Idol since 2018 and is a favorite sitting among Perry and Lionel Richie.

We do not know how we feel about giving a baby a BB gun, but it’s clear from Bryan’s glowing words of Perry that he cares for his colleague and the newest addition to the family.
