When it comes to Hollywood, it’s always a surprise when you realize that an up-and-coming actor or actress has famous parents, who you used to watch growing up!
Most recently, people have been stunned to find out that one of the actors in a newly released Netflix show has a father we all used to love! This is Jordyn Owens.
Meet Jordyn Owens: You’ll Never Guess Whose Son This Is
Currently, he holds a role in Neil Patrick Harris’s Netflix hit Uncoupled. Owens plays the role of Trey, who you meet in episode 7 of the 8-episode series.
Now, Owens’ father can’t stop gushing about him! You see Owens’ father, actor Geoffrey Owens is best known for his role as Elvin Tibideaux in The Cosby Show. If you can recall, Elvin was Sondra’s boyfriend and later husband throughout the series.
“I’m beyond words proud,” Geoffrey told Page Six of his son. “I’m speechless.”
According to Page Six, while we haven’t seen Geoffrey on the small screen recently, he revealed he’s been onstage acting for the last several years and teaching acting students Shakespeare. Endearingly, he’s been helping him hone his craft as well.
“I’ve observed it over the years,” he told Page Six while talking about his son’s obvious star power. “I’ve been observing it for the last five or six years.”
And while this is Jordyn’s first TV role, People reports he’s no stranger to working hard. Jordyn, prior to becoming an actor, played guard for UMass Lowell, and he’s an artist and model as well.

Owens also shared how “blessed” he felt to be making his acting debut alongside some of the best in the business. “Beyond blessed (cliche I know) to have made my appearance with some of the best in the business, great experience, always thankful.”
He continued those sentiments while talking with Page Six saying that “acting opposite of Tisha Campbell and Marcia Gay Harden, ‘especially for a first project, it doesn’t get any better than this.’” Seeing the next generation follow in their parents’ footsteps is so cool. We can’t wait to see what Jordyn Owens does next!
