Just weeks after asking her followers for “good marriage tips,” reality star Meghan King and President Joe Biden’s nephew, Cuffe Owens have separated. The newlyweds were only husband and wife for two months before their split.
On December 3, King shared a photo of herself in fancy pink pajamas. In the caption, she revealed that she sent her children from her first marriage to stay with their grandparents while she and Owens got some quality time together while celebrating their two-month anniversary.
“We sent the kids to stay at grandma and grandpa’s, we got a hotel 3 miles from our house, and I slipped into the pajamas I’ve been waiting to wear for a special occasion,” King wrote. “We feel like we’ve been married for a million years (thanks to marrying later in life and with a lot of history and, well, kids) so a two-month anniversary staycation was called for.”
As Meghan King concluded, their hotel getaway only lasted a night, and “tomorrow real life commences but a few hours in a hotel @lemeridienstlclayton will do a new marriage good. Please, give us more good marriage tips!”

And many of her followers did share some of their best marriage advice with the newly betrothed couple. From the best way to handle arguments to remembering “nothing matters more than each other,” the advice covered all the bases.
Sadly, it seems to have been too late for the couple who got married in October shortly after it was revealed that they were dating. “We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” Meghan said in a previous interview with Brides.
“By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.”
“Our wedding was about two things for us,” Meghan King continued. “Our love for and commitment to each other, and our family—each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married. That’s it.”

In a statement made on December 27, Meghan King seemingly confirmed the split by saying, “I’ve been asked by many outlets and individuals to comment on the state of my marriage. I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating.”
“This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.
