After flying solo during his quick visit to London where the Invictus Games were celebrated, Prince Harry met up with Meghan Markle to visit Abuja, Nigeria.
On May 10, videos of the couple showed them spending time laughing, singing, and dancing with young students at a local school.
While talking with the group of children, Meghan shared a beautiful moment she experienced with their daughter, Lilibet, who is named after Queen Elizabeth. “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn three,” Meghan told the kids.
“A few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she [goes], ‘Mama, I see me in you,’” Meghan continued. And even though she knew her daughter was speaking “literally,” having took noticed of herself in the reflection, the duchess admitted her words are something that will stay with her forever.
“I hung onto those words in a very different way,” she continued. “And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you.”
The last time Meghan and Harry shared a public image on their daughter was on her 1st birthday which was spent in London.
As the mom of two added, she admitted to the group that “as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”
Meghan revealed in 2022 on her podcast that after taking a DNA test, she 43% Nigerian.
She also revealed that Lili loves to sing and dance in school as well, adding that Archie is into construction.
As Simon Perry reported for People, Meghan and Harry talked with a larger group of adults and older students about mental health, an initiative Harry and his brother Prince William, along with Princess Catherine, made a priority early on in their work as senior members of the Royal family.
According to People, after sharing his thoughts on mental health, Meghan asked the crowd, “You see why I’m married to him?”
