Meghan Markle Makes Stunning Tribute to Princess Diana at Recent Red Carpet

Anytime Meghan Markle and Prince Harry step on a red carpet, there’s a good chance they’re paying tribute to Princess Diana – Harry’s late mother – in one way or another. That was certainly the case on December 6th when they appeared at the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala.

The royal couple were being honored for the selfless and altruistic work they do through the Archewell Foundation, a non-profit founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The foundation’s core purpose is to ‘uplift and unite communities – local and global, online and offline – one act of compassion at a time.’

At the event, Meghan was sporting a beautiful emerald-cut aquamarine solitaire ring that once belonged to Princess Diana – it was one of Diana’s favorite pieces and she wore it quite often. Diana passed away on August 31, 1997, from injuries she sustained in a car crash that also killed her partner and driver.

Those that keep a close tab on Meghan Markle and her husband will recognize the aquamarine ring from their wedding day – the same day Meghan received her royal title, Duchess of Sussex. They began dating in 2016, got engaged in 2017, got married on May 19, 2018, and have had two children since.

Meghan’s wedding day featured several other tributes to her late mother-in-law. In addition to the beautiful aquamarine ring, Meghan Markle sported her engagement ring – which is home to two diamonds that once belonged to Diana. Meghan also carried a bouquet of forget-me-nots – Diana’s favorite flower.

As for the Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala, Meghan wore a ‘white Louis Vuitton gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline,’ as described by E! News. The dress looked similar to her wedding day dress. Prince Harry wore a sleek black suit with a white shirt and dark blue tie. They looked stunning, as always.

“The couple has always stood out for their willingness to speak up and change the narrative on racial justice and mental health around the world,” said Kerry Kennedy, the President of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization. They were honored alongside Bill Russell, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and more.

Megan Markle Prepares for Launch of ‘Harry & Meghan’

The Hope Gala wasn’t the only headline Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making this week. They first caught our attention on Monday when the couple released a trailer for their upcoming docuseries titled Harry & Meghan. Directed by Liz Garbus, the series gives insight into the couple’s private life.

The docuseries will be released in two volumes. Volume I will be released on Thursday, December 8th, and will include the first three episodes of the series. Volume II will be released on Thursday, December 15th, and will include the final three episodes. It’s a bit of an early Christmas gift for their loyal followers.

As you can expect, the couple is already facing a lot of criticism – mostly from the Royal Family – for their truthful recollection of what life was like as a part of the senior members of the Family. While King Charles and Queen Camilla won’t be watching the docuseries, their aides will keep them informed, as needed.
