Despite all the drama and legal trouble surrounding Donald Trump, Melania Trump has one thing on her mind – family. While she remains angry and doesn’t support Donald’s role in the ‘hush money’ allegations, she has no interest in talking about his legal trouble and remains focused on raising their son, Barron.
One source spoke to PEOPLE about Melania’s current situation as she continues to live in the private Mar-a-Lago community. The source confirmed that Melania is happy at Mar-a-Lago and spends a strong majority of her time with her son and her parents – adding she constantly surrounds herself with family.
“Many Mar-a-Lago Club members and others know and see Melania. But they aren’t friends. They don’t get together and gab or socialize. She has always surrounded herself with family. She is a doting mother to Barron and very protective of him,” the source says. “Melania’s friends are her family members.”
Of course, this is nothing new for the former First Lady. Even before she met Donald Trump – back in her modeling days – she was never one to socialize and rarely did interviews. Even those that would try to socialize with her will admit that she never really let them in on a personal level and rather kept to herself.
The source went on to explain that her son is and always has been the ‘first priority’ in her life. While she has always had her concerns over Donald’s legal trouble, she hasn’t changed the way she treats and raises her son – even calling her a ‘good mother.’ Barron recently turned 17 years old on March 20.
Regarding Melania’s day-to-day life, she remains shielded from the criticism and negativity surrounding the Trump name. “They live in a fairy tale world and just deal with things as they come and seem to survive pretty well. They do what is possible to get past the problems without disrupting their lifestyle.”
She seems to be content with living at Mar-a-Lago, where her parents also reside. The source explains that she is ‘leading her own life’ and enjoys being surrounded by people who refuse to talk negatively about her family and/or husband. She also stays away from social media and avoids the news/media.
Melania Trump ‘Angry’ Over Husband’s Hush Money Scandal
Just a few days ago, MamasUncut discussed comments made by another source who explained how ‘angry’ Melania Trump was over her husband’s hush money scandal – which came to light ahead of the 2016 election when Trump allegedly sent $130,000 to Stormy Daniels to remain hush about their affair.
Trump allegedly had the affair with Daniels, a former adult film star, in 2006 – just a few months after Melania gave birth to their son, Barron. While Trump originally denied having sent the hush money payment, he later confirmed he authorized the payment and is now facing a potential arrest as a result.
“She remains angry and doesn’t want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned. She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends,” the source told PEOPLE – adding that Melania and Donald live separately and don’t spend much time together.

With that said, the husband and wife remain cordial and can still be seen together on occasion – including their son’s 17th birthday. “Barron is a sweet boy who has a loving family around him. He is older now and handsome. His mom is protective of him but he is free around Mar-a-Lago,” the source added.
