While Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough continue to fight over control of Lisa Marie Presley’s living trust, Michael Lockwood wants to make sure his twin daughters – who he shares with Lisa Marie – are represented fairly. For this reason, he’s petitioning to be their guardian ad litem during the legal battle.
The petition was filed by Lockwood and his legal team on March 9, and it appears the petition will go uncontested by the other parties involved. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise and is likely for the best, considering both of his daughters are set to be beneficiaries of the trust while Lockwood is not.
And that’s exactly how he explained it in his petition. “The minor is a beneficiary of a trust at issue before the probate court in the above-referenced case. The minor requires an appointment of a guardian ad litem to represent her interests in the proceeding,” he writes, adding ‘there is no conflict regarding appointment.’
Michael Lockwood and Lisa Marie Presley got married in Japan in 2006 – they previously went public with their relationship in 2005 when he was mentioned in her Now What album. The couple was inseparable at the time, which was a stark difference from Lisa Marie’s previous three marriages – which failed.
They eventually welcomed twin daughters – Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood – on October 7, 2008. Lisa Marie and Michael remained together for 10 years before the former filed for divorce in June 2016. A legal battle over money and custody of the twins soon followed.
That custody battle lasted nearly five years, up until Lisa Marie’s untimely death on January 12. Not long after news of her passing rocked the world, it was reported that Michael Lockwood would receive full custody of the twins. Unfortunately, that day didn’t come without a reported feud within the Presley family.
Considering the rift between Lisa Marie and Michael in the years leading up to her death, it was reported that he wasn’t invited to her memorial service. On the day of, he showed up with Priscilla Presley and the twins – which didn’t sit right with Riley Keough and furthered the tension between Riley and Priscilla.
Michael Lockwood Will Likely Be the Twins’ Guardian ad Litem
As the legal battle continues between Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley, it seems as though Michael Lockwood will be appointed the guardian ad litem of Harper and Finley Lockwood. The lawyers that represent the 14-year-old twins have already filed a declaration in support of the movement.
Harper and Finley have also signed consent forms, further approving the petition. Considering Priscilla and Michael have maintained a cordial relationship, there likely won’t be any contest from her – though it’s unclear how Riley feels about it since she doesn’t have a good relationship with Michael.
As of right now, all parties involved are waiting for the April 13 court date, when they’ll convene for a hearing in probate court. This comes roughly six weeks after filing a petition that questions the validity and authenticity of a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s trust, which would remove Priscilla as a co-trustee.

If the courts rule in Priscilla’s favor, she will remain a trustee with Riley Keough. If the courts rule in Riley’s favor, then she will become the lone trustee, and her two siblings, Harper and Finley, will be beneficiaries. Many experts believe Priscilla has a good chance at winning, but we’ll have to wait to see what happens.
