Miley Cyrus shared harrowing footage of lightning striking her plane mid-flight while she was on her way to the Asunciónico festival in Paraguay.
The flight was forced to make an emergency landing because of the severe weather conditions.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the singer shared a video that captured the moment lightning struck her plane to Paraguay.
“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción,” she captioned the post. “Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting.”
“My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing,” the post continued.
In addition to the terrifying footage of the storm captured through the window of the plane, the 29-year-old also provided a photo of the damage caused by the lightning strike.
She concluded the caption on the social media post by writing, “We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. ???? I LOVE YOU.”
The storm that interrupted the plane’s journey also hit the grounds where the music festival was set to take place, causing massive flooding Tuesday which forced the organizers of the event to cancel the first day of the festival, the Twitter account for the festival announced.

Other performers who were scheduled to perform on the opening day of the festival included Doja Cat, Foo Fighters, and Machine Gun Kelly.
But the inclement weather didn’t stop Kelly from performing for his fans. In a video shared to Twitter, the musician hosted an impromptu performance outside of a hotel amid the cancellation of the festival.

As of Wednesday morning, it is still unclear if the rest of the music festival will proceed.
