While all women should be praised for their superhero strength during childbirth, one mom in Australia is getting high praise after she welcomed a baby girl at 12 pounds, nine ounces. Yes, you read that correctly, in October, Emma Millar birthed a nearly 13-pound child.

And since her birth, Millar and her husband Daniel Millar have given their daughter, who they named Remi Frances Millar, the nickname “mini Sumo wrestler.” Come on, just look at those cheeks.

As Millar told Yahoo! Lifestyle, they had a feeling their baby girl would be on the bigger side after giving birth to two other children, who weighed 12 pounds, one ounce and eight pounds, three ounces. However, the mom admitted she never could have imagined her daughter would be almost double the average weight of a newborn baby.

And let’s not forget to mention that Remi was born at just 38 weeks and two days. The average weight of a baby, boy or girl, in the United States is 6.8 pounds at 38 weeks, according to the Baby Center. The average birth weight in Australia, according to Illawarra Mercury, is 7.2 pounds.

Due to Remi’s size, Millar underwent an emergency c-section. Millar said of her baby girl to Illawarra Mercury, “She’s like a mini sumo wrestler. I did expect to have a larger baby as I had gestational diabetes but not this big. At 35 weeks an ultrasound revealed she was about 4kg but we didn’t think she’d grow that much more.”

Millar also said that if Remi was any bigger, she wouldn’t have been able to even hold her baby until she recovered from the cesarean birth. “She’s about the limit I’ve been told.”

According to Daniel, Remi’s size has thrust his daughter into the center of attention. Not only did he tell Illawarra Mercury that she became “quite the celebrity” at the hospital after she was born, but now whenever they go out in public, her size immediately makes her the topic of conversation.

“When I’ve walked around with her there’s always a crowd of people – midwives, other new parents and visitors – around her, asking about her size because she’s so much bigger than all the other newborns.” They even had to purchase all new clothes for Remi, because the ones they bought her prior to her birth are all too small.

But despite all the chatter about her size, the adoring parents say they, along with their two other children, couldn’t be more thrilled to have Remi in their lives now. “Our other children just adore Remi, who is really healthy and content and just thriving.”
