A 7-year-old miraculously survived a 15-foot fall after she tumbled off the railing of her second-story home while she was playing on the stairs. According to KXAS, just before Thanksgiving 2019, 7-year-old Grace Priddy was climbing on the banister that stood 15-feet above the ground below her when she lost her balance and fell.

Her mother told the station that Grace landed on her head and back. Paramedics arrived on the scene and found that she had suffered a traumatic brain injury and a skull fracture as a result of the fall.

Grace was taken to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she was admitted into the intensive care unit and put on a ventilator. The youngster’s terrified mom, Rebecca, told KXAS, “When this happened we literally thought she was going to die. When we went into the emergency room that Sunday it was, ‘God, please save my child.’”

Her prayers were eventually answered and Grace has made a full recovery. She is now walking, talking and was well enough to return to school after the holiday break. “Going from unconscious and having a breathing tube and not being able to talk to where is today is just a miracle for us.”

“We didn’t even know if she was going to be able to walk, but the fact that here she is four weeks later jumping with a controlled supervisor, she’s running — not that she’s supposed to be running, but she’s 7 — and she’s talking and hanging out with friends, miracles do happen. She is my Christmas miracle.”

Now, the mom hopes other families will learn from her daughter’s traumatic experience. As Rebecca explained, her daughter didn’t know she was going to roll over and fall, and “that’s what we hope other people learn, just don’t do it.”
