Mom of 2 Missing Idaho Kids Allegedly Believes She Is the Reincarnation of God, Refuses to Help Police with Investigation

A mom of two missing kids, who allegedly believes she is a reincarnation of God, refuses to help police with their investigation.

According to reports, Lori Vallow’s 7-year-old adopted son Joshua Vallow and her 17-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan have been missing since September 2019.

As People reports, police discovered that after the disappearance of her children, Lisa Vallow married a man named Chad Daybell. Daybell is reportedly “a religious author who writes about prophecy and the end of the world.”

Daybell’s late wife was found dead “under suspicious circumstance” a month after Joshua and Tylee were last seen. Daybell and Lisa married two weeks later. It was after the investigation into what caused Daybell’s late wife’s death that authorities learned Joshua and Tylee were missing.

According to AZCentral, police returned to the home Lisa and Daybell shared in November after the family of the two missing kids contacted authorities requesting a welfare check on the children. Lisa initially told police that Joshua was with family in Arizona. It’s unclear if she said anything about Tylee’s whereabouts.

Police Believe Mom of Two Missing Kids Know More Than She’s Saying

After learning that was a lie, police returned to the home only to find the newlyweds had fled. Now, police believe Lisa knows more about her missing children than she is letting on.

In a court filing obtained by Fox 13 News, Lisa’s latest late husband, Charles Vallow, who adopted Joshua as a baby, separated from Lisa because he didn’t support her “newfound” religious beliefs.

During their relationship, as AZCentral reports, Lisa and Charles raised Joshua and Tylee together. She was a hairdresser at the time. But after their relationship ended in 2018, Charles became worried about the children’s safety.

Some of Lisa’s new beliefs were highlighted in the court filing, Fox 13 reports:

“Mother [Lori Vallow] has recently become infatuated at times obsessive about near-death experiences and spiritual visions. Mother has told Father [Charles Vallow] that she is sealed [eternally married] to the ancient Book of Mormon prophet Moroni and that she has lived numerous lives on numerous planets prior to this current life. Mother also believes that she was married to James the Just in a past life and also lived as Mary French in the 1800s who was Joseph Smith Junior’s natural grandmother. Mother also informed Father that she is a translated being who cannot taste death sent by God to lead the 144,000 into the Millennium. Mother believes that she is receiving spiritual revelations and visions to help her gather and prepare those chosen to live in the New Jerusalem after the Great War as prophesied in the book of Revelations.”

In January 2019, Lisa reportedly threatened Charles if he got in the way of her work. As Fox 13 reports, Lori’s brother, Alex Cox, shot and killed Charles several months later in July. Cox claimed the shooting was done in self-defense. Joshua reportedly witnessed this dad’s death.

Then in July, Alex was found dead, but details surrounding his passing have not yet been released. Charles’ sister, Kay Woodcock, who is also Joshua’s biological grandmother, said Lisa’s behavior changed after she met Chad Daybell.

Before ending their marriage, Charles had suspicions that Lisa was cheating on him with Daybell. Listen to what Kay had to say about her former sister-in-law below:

In a separate interview with AZCentral, Woodcock said Charles eventually got a protection order against Lisa following her threats. “He was highly concerned about it. Her emotional state, her mental state, and the fact that she had made threats about him. It all culminated into that cult that she’s in.”

Rexburg police said in the recent statement, “Lori Vallow has completely refused to assist this investigation. We know that the children are not with Lori and Chad Daybell and we also have information indicating that Lori knows either the location of the children or what has happened to them.”

The statement continued:

“Despite having this knowledge, she has refused to work with law enforcement to help us resolve this matter. It is astonishing that rather than work with law enforcement to help us locate her own children, Lori Vallow has chosen instead to leave the state with her new husband. We strongly believe that Joshua and Tylee’s lives are in danger.”

Anyone with information regarding Joshua and Tylee’s whereabouts or anyone who has seen them since September 2019 is asked to call 208-359-3000 or 1-800-THE-LOST (843-5678).
