Thoughts on the copper IUD?

Hi, I’m a mother to 4 children and do not want any more babies! However, I do not want to tie my tubes because I don’t want to be put through any kind of surgery. I am currently taking the mini pill for birth control because I am breastfeeding my baby and also have hypertension. I’ve been considering the copper iud as I’ve read that it’s safe under my circumstances … but wanted to hear if anyone has any experience with it because I feel so nervous about having something inside of me for multiple years. Thanks ! Anonymous Community MemberThis question was asked by a Facebook community member who has asked to remain anonymous.

What is the recovery like for a tubal?

I recently had an emergency c section. Due to the religious views of the hospital, I gave birth at my dr could not do a tubal ligation at the time of birth. I have to go to an outpatient center to have it done. My recovery was rough from the c section, and I’m worried now about the tubal ligation and the recovery time. I have a newborn, toddler, and three school-age children. My husband works 60+ hours a week, and I’m a SAHM. I don’t want any more kids, so I’m just looking for tips/and insight on the procedure and recovery time. I had my son in 2018 and still haven’t gotten a period: Advice?

I had my son in September 2018. I stopped breastfeeding in March 2018. I still have no period, and I’m cramping through the days, and it’s been eight months since I stopped breastfeeding. I’m not pregnant, dr did a blood test and ultrasound for anything abnormal, both were fine. Anyone else has this problem? Is a thicker than normal uterus a sign of pregnancy?

So I have an anonymous question, and I’m kinda confused about what I’ve learned at my OBGYN appt today. So reverse to about 2-3 weeks ago, my Breast milk had come back in, and I was having symptoms of being pregnant again, constant feeling nauseous, breasts hurting, and really crampy. My primary Dr did pee/blood tests. Both were all negative. Well i had an appt today to get the Nexplanon and I lied and told my ob-gyn that i had a positive test a week ago, so that way they could do another test and an ultrasound so I could be 100% sure before I got the Nexplanon, I’ve been on the Nuvaring since July, but i want to be 100% sure that I was NOT pregnant before I got the implant. Well, they did a pee test, and of course, it was negative, so they did an ultrasound.. The reason I’m confused is that he told me my uterus was very unusually Thick(15cm thick), and that I could possibly be pregnant, but it would very very early, and he wants me to do another blood test. So my question is, has anyone had a usually thick uterus and not …

Did anyone else gain a bunch of weight on the depo?

I got my first shot in January of this year. I spotted on and off for the first four months or so until the spotting just stopped altogether. I haven’t really noticed other changes. Well, I got my 3rd shot on October 4th, and I have gained 8 lbs in 4 weeks! Totally abnormal for me since I’ve always stayed around 135lbs even after having two kids, and my weight never fluctuates. My appetite has increased out of nowhere as well (not pregnant, I have taken SEVERAL tests because I got paranoid lol). I try to go to the gym at least twice a week but even if I don’t get the chance I really don’t each much junk food… I’ve just been so hungry and eating bigger portions at every meal. My mom is saying that it may just be water weight. Is this appetite increase normal? Any advice on how to keep the weight off? Has anyone gotten pregnant after getting an ovary removed?

I’m 33, and recently my OBGYN found a 3-inch mass on my left ovary. I was told today that my best option would be to remove this ovary. As long as nothing looks malignant, I will get to keep my other ovary. I have a 3 yr old daughter but was hoping to have one more. Is there anyone who has had an ovary removed and conceived after? I was told I could still get pregnant, but it just may take me longer. I am just looking for experiences after having an ovary removed. Thanks! I am not a fan of my husbands friend: Advice?

My husband started reconnecting with a childhood friend. When my husband sent him a message, he got weird responses like “what do you want?” Not really what you’d expect from an old friend. This is where it gets strange. My husband gets a friend request from a fake account that I found out is this old friend. He was added and quickly deleted. After my husband mentioned he’d recently gotten out of prison, I did some digging, and he has a LONG record. He beat up two girlfriends, has charged for theft and intimidation, and a long history of drug use. I brought it up to my husband that this guy seems like a bad guy, and he said: “No, I grew up with him.” We’re talking 30+yrs since they were best friends. I don’t feel like this guy is a good company to keep, but I don’t want to flat out say, “well, you aren’t going to be friends, and that’s that!” But my husband is special needs…so getting him to understand is rough. IDK what to do or say without hurting his feelings. I just don’t want him to end up ruining everything we’ve built together Anonymous Community …

*Trigger warning* Has anyone else had a traumatic birth: Advice?

I was wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar and would be willing to share. I had my daughter six months ago. The birth was very traumatic. I almost died from bleeding out internally. I coded and was rushed in for emergency surgery. I am just very lucky to be alive. The labor and delivery went amazingly well. I lost 3 liters (of 5) of blood that day. Basically, my placenta ripped my uterus when it detached, causing the internal bleeding. I went into Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC); They couldn’t get the bleeding stopped. I had lacerations in my uterus from the doctors pulling out the blood clots that caused me to code and go unresponsive twice. The lacerations are from them, reaching in with their hand ls and pulling the clots out to save my life. The doctors needed to act fast to empty the blood from the uterus so they could get it to contract back down to normal size. My ob said he’s only seen 3 of these occur in his 18 years….I was the worst. If I had a home birth, I would have bled to death. When they couldn’t stop the bleeding and didn’t know …

I breastfed for 15-months and still don’t have a period: Has this happened to anyone else?

So I breastfed for the first 15 months, I stopped about a month ago and still no period. I already get freaked out because my ob says well if it doesn’t come back within a month or two, we will have to look into birth control, which I don’t want ever again had Mirena surgically removed bad experience with pill and depo. Estrogen levels look fine. He says well probably from breastfeeding, but a worst-case could be a pituitary tumor. I’m freaking out!!!! Can’t scare someone who already gets freaked out so easy with stuff. I have two kids. 4 and 16 months and always had periods. The first few days always heavy, maybe a day or two irregular but always got them. This ever happened to anyone else? Should my period come back soon? Has anyone else had pain with the copper IUD?

I got the copper IUD in early September, I had lots of pain and went in for a check, they said nothing was wrong and to give it time. It’s now Mid October, and I’m in so much pain. Pain after sex for a minimum of 2 days, pain at period/ovulation, and then severe pain randomly that makes me double over and can function. I guess my question is, has anyone else experienced this? This is my last form of birth control for myself, other than condoms. I’ve literally tried darn near everything my insurance will cover, nothing’s worked. My body is just so sensitive, and I’m trying to stick it out, but man, it’s killing me.
