Actress Nina Dobrev reveals what she thought she was doing when she got engaged

Last month, Actress Nina Dobrev and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White got engaged last month, and now Dobrev is sharing more about the day it happened.

The couple had been dating since 2019.

As Dobrev wrote in her latest Instagram post on Nov. 14, “We have been choosing each other every day for almost 5 years and on October 25th, 2024 we made the ultimate choice: to choose each other forever.”

In the same Instagram post, Dobrev shared a video of herself getting ready that October night. However, she didn’t know she was getting ready for her engagement, she thought she was getting ready for a Vogue dinner.

“Get ready with me for a Vogue Dinner hosted by Anna Wintour…or so I thought,” the video began.

After getting ready, Dobrev said she was “stressed” to leave because she wanted to be on time for Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine.

“Little did I know what was waiting for me on the other side of the door,” Dobrev admitted. “To say that I was shocked was an understatement.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been more shocked or surprised or happier in my entire life.”

Dobrev revealed that she is the planner in her and White’s relationship, so she was “shocked that Shaun pulled this off without me knowing. Every detail was absolute perfection.”

In the caption, Dobrev added a note about her relationship with White, calling it “a beautiful (and real) love story, when you find the person that you want to go through life’s toughest moments with.”

“I have found mine,” she continued. “My heart is so full and my cheeks hurt from smiling over the couple of few weeks. I feel so lucky to be with you and I’m still buzzing with joy. I can’t wait to start this next chapter with you. I love you, my fiancé.”

The “Vampire Diaries” actress and the professional snowboarder started dating in 2019 after formally meeting at a Florida workshop organized by motivational speaker Tony Robbins, People reported.

In the comment section of her post, her “Vampire Diaries” co-star Paul Wesley joked, writing, “Was there a part of you that was a little disappointed it wasn’t a vogue dinner tho (SIC)?”
