Olivia Newton-John is currently living with stage four cancer. This is her third battle with cancer and this time it has metastasized in her bones. The diagnosis isn’t good news, but the star remains hopeful.
Her first battle with cancer began in 1992. At the time, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but with treatment was able to beat it. Then, in 2013, she battled cancer again, this time choosing to keep the news private. Her latest fight with cancer started in May of 2017 when she revealed that her cancer had metastasized and that doctors had found a tumor at the base of her spine.

Earlier this year, Olivia sat down for an interview and described her latest battle with cancer.
She told 60 Minutes Australia that she feels lucky to be alive. She explained, “I’m so lucky that I’ve been through this three times and I’m still here. I’m living with it. It’s just reinforced my gratitude.”
Although it’s an aggressive form of cancer, Olivia is staying positive.
“We know we’re gonna die at some point, and we don’t know when it is. When you’re given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you’re suddenly given a possibility of a time limit,” she described. “So every day is a gift.”
She’s right. Every day is a gift.
She doesn’t know how long she’s got left to live, but that’s not stopping her.
She admits in the interview that she doesn’t know how long she has left to live and that’s by design.
“If somebody tells you, you have six months to live, very possibly you will because you believe that,” she explained. “So for me, psychologically, it’s better not to have any idea of what they expect or what the last person that has what you have lived, so I don’t, I don’t tune in.”
Olivia wants “to be here a long time.”
