Pamela Anderson Opens Up About the Time Tommy Lee Trashed the Set of ‘Baywatch’ After Learning of Her On-Screen Kiss With David Chokachi

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee had what many people would call a toxic marriage – evidenced by physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. The two got married in 1995 and were together for three years before separating – their divorce was finalized in 2002. Those years were some of Pamela’s worst.

Not only was their sex tape leaked in 1996, but Lee ended up spending six months in jail for beating his wife inside their home – ultimately leading to their separation. Their controversial relationship was depicted in the 2022 miniseries titled Pam & Tommy, with a strong emphasis on the leaked sex tape.

While the miniseries garnered a lot of attention, Pamela Anderson wasn’t too happy with the show as it was filmed without her permission. In response, the former Baywatch star is preparing to tell her side of the story in a new memoir – titled Love, Pamela – and new Netflix miniseries – Pamela, a love story.

The memoir and subsequent miniseries are going to reveal a lot about Pamela Anderson and her life as she takes control of her own narrative after years of it being told by others. While fans have to wait another week for those revelations, we’re at least getting a sneak peek at one of the topics covered.

The Guardian recently obtained an excerpt from Anderson’s personal diary – which will be featured in the Netflix documentary series – that detailed her then-husband’s reaction when he learned of her on-screen kiss with Baywatch co-star, David Chokachi. In the excerpt, she admits she didn’t tell him right away.

“I had to kiss David Chokachi but I didn’t tell Tommy. He lost it. He trashed my trailer on the set, put his fist through a cabinet. I apologized for not telling him — lying, as he put it — and told him it wouldn’t happen again,” Anderson wrote in her diary. “Tommy was so jealous, I thought that’s what love is.”

In fact, his jealousy was so bad that the Baywatch cast would intentionally change their lines anytime he was around the set – in hopes of avoiding any outbursts. And those outbursts came often, including him ramming his car into Anderson’s makeup trailer, which ultimately resulted in her attempting suicide.

Pamela Anderson Also Had an Incident With Tim Allen

Before catching her big break on Baywatch, a young Pamela Anderson played Lisa in the first two seasons of the hit sitcom Home Improvement – which starred Tim Allen. It was a key moment in her acting career, as it exposed her to a much larger audience after years of gaining notoriety with Playboy.

In an excerpt from her memoir, Anderson opened up about her experience working with Allen – more specifically, her first day on set. On that day, Allen emerged from his dressing room with nothing but a robe on and flashed his penis at her. At the time, Anderson was just 23 years old and Allen was 38.

“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably,” she wrote in her memoir.

The excerpt was initially shared by Variety, which reached out to Tim Allen for comment.
