Parents Cassie and Chris Langan decided to give their three children a little tough love by taking their most hardworking “family member” out for a day of fun. That “family member” just so happened to be their Wi-Fi modem.
As the couple revealed on Facebook, the idea to give their hardworking modem a break came when they were met with little enthusiasm when they told their kids about a fun day they had planned for them.

Cassie explained that when they asked their children to go on a day trip with them, instead of excitement or gratitude, the idea was met with a whole host of complaints. “We asked our kids if they would like to go on a day trip to Warrnambool today and were met with the response, ‘That’s so boring, I don’t want to go,'” Cassie shared on Facebook.
That’s when the fed-up parents decided to change the plan. “Chris and I decided that instead of taking [three] unappreciative kids out, we let the ones who didn’t want to go stay home and took our most [overworked] family member for a well deserved day out… our modem.”
Cassie continued, saying that their modem appreciated and even enjoy the day off. “Modem had a fantastic day not being used by the kids and it was lovely not to listen to constant bickering.”
But of course, there was a bit of embarrassment over the bizarre third wheel and the parents’ commitment to their decision. “The only complaining was Evan being mortified that we took our modem out in public,” Cassie admitted.
Cassie also uploaded a slew of hilarious pictures they took during the modem’s big day out, which were shared over 73,000 times. As the photos reveal, the day of fun included a trip to the beach:

It can only be assumed that the kids learned a big lesson about gratitude from this one, especially after being home alone with no Wi-Fi. And many applauded the parents’ creativity. One person wrote, “This is hilarious! Serves the kids right lol.”
Maybe we should all be a bit kinder to our under-appreciated parents… er, we mean, our hardworking modems!
