Pregnant Mandy Moore on How She’s Hiding Her Bump During Filming

Mandy Moore is expecting her first child and thankfully the cast and crew of This Is Us are super excited and supportive of the mama-to-be.

“I did tell Dan before I told most of my family, just because I wanted him to know in preparation for writing the season what to sort of expect,” shared Moore during a recent virtual panel discussion. “Oddly, I was nervous. I don’t know why because I know you, Dan. But it was the loveliest exchange and conversation.”

“We haven’t really adjusted our plan. We’re just going to work Mandy right till go time,” shared show creator Dan Fogelman. “Amongst the many challenges of this season of production, that’s not a big one. We couldn’t be happier.”

Actress Chrissy Metz, who plays Mandy Moore’s character Rebecca’s daughter, shared that she “was so excited, [she] cried” when she heard the news.

She went on to share how the team would work around Mandy’s baby bump. “Mandy gets to go back and forth in time; luckily she’s pregnant sometimes and so she can kind of cover-up her belly,” Metz told ET. “They’ve done a brilliant job of working around it. I don’t know how, I guess it’ll be magic.”

Mandy recently appeared on The Today Show and discussed how her role on the NBC drama has helped her to prepare for motherhood. “Playing a matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I’m as pseudo-prepared as I can be,” said the actress and singer. “I’ve had babies and toddlers and adult children [on the show], so I’ve gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land.”

We couldn’t be more thrilled for Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith. The couple’s first little one, “Baby Boy Goldsmith” is due early 2021.
